When we think of prunes, we might think of old people, or its unpleasant association with constipation, that might be the reason for the name change. Prunes are know referred to DRIED PLUMS, it is what they are but for a long time this dried fruit was always linked to old people. This maybe the reason for the name change, so that people will eat them and purchase them more often. Prunes are very nutritious and can be a "plus" in your healthy eating regime.
